The Pictorial has heard it through the grapevine that Tony Curtis will be making an appearance at the Million Dollar Theater in Downtown LA on June 13 as part of the Jules Verne Festival. He will be in attendance to receive the festival’s Jules Verne Legendaire Award, and in celebration the festival will hold a special 50th anniversary screening of Billy Wilder’s comedy masterpiece Some Like It Hot, starring Curtis, Jack Lemmon and Marilyn Monroe. Tickets are available NOW!
From the Los Angeles Historic Theater Foundation: The special day, lined up as a tribute to Tony Curtis, will also include 2:30pm presentation of the beloved movie classic HOUDINI (starring Tony Curtis) with a spectacular pre-show featuring Escape Artist Curtis Lovell II dubbed “Modern-Day Houdini” who will attempt – live on stage – Houdini’s water torture escape as a tribute to Tony Curtis’s portrayal of the great artist in the film.

p.s.: Happy 84th Birthday, Tony! I do think I’ll put in Sweet Smell of Success tonight in celebration …
This event sounds amazing! Thanks for the heads up. I need to clear my schedule and definitely need to find time for this!
Sounds like a great line-up of events…
Love the fact that they are doing a magic stunt prior to the event. Can’t wait to see C. Lovell!
