Hollywood’s 3 major Guilds, SAG, WGA and DGA, have now announced the nominations for their respective Guild’s top honors. The front-runners, of course, give us much to mull over as we begin our Oscar speculation for the 81st Academy Awards this February.

It bears noting that four times in the DGA’s 60 year history has their award for best director failed to go on to win Oscar Gold.

As far as I’m concerned, Rourke and Downey Jr. are definitely the two big comeback kids of 2008!
