I’ve been listening to Radio Dismuke for about two years now, and have to publicly ostracize myself for my failure to sing its praises till now. I’ve loved it every day, these past 24 months, letting its tinny treasures reasonate off my apartment walls. For the uninitiated, Radio Dismuke is a streaming online radio station that broadcasts popular music of the 1920s and 1930s 24-hours a day. You get Rudy Vallee and Fletcher Henderson and Gus Arnheim’s Cocoanut Grove Orchestra and Bix Biederbecke and Louis Armstrong. Bing Crosby and Al Jolson and Red Nichols and Eddie Cantor and Duke Ellington and, well, the range is unbelievable. The quality unbeatble. The value? Immeasurable.
For a beautifully authentic slice of yesterday, do yourself a favor and tune in now.
It’s the bees knees. 😉
Another cup of champagne: I just reached 6,000. Dan.
